Hello everyone,
I recently started having trouble with my Bittle device, and I am not sure how to fix the issue.
Model:
It is a standard Bittle model with a V1_1 Nyboard.
Events leading to issue:
Via the Petoi Desktop Application, I uploaded software version 2.0 onto Bittle, which was previously working fine on version 1.0. This process completed successfully, however, Bittle has not worked since.
Issue:
Bittle no longer makes any noise on startup, doesn't respond to connections via USB, nor does Bittle respond to commands from the remote. With the Bluetooth adapter attached, other devices cannot find Bittle. Additionally, when attmpeting to Factory Reset Bittle via the Petoi Desktop Application, I get the following:
avrdude: stk500_recv(): programmer is not responding
avrdude: stk500_getsync() attempt 1 of 10: not in sync: resp=0xa5
None of the ten attempts are able to connect.
Fixes attempted:
Unplugging and replugging the USB cable on both the computer and Bittle end.
Made sure the USB cable was plugged in properly on both ends.
Making sure the USB Adapter pins are in fully and are in the right direction.
Ensured that the USB drive CH340C is installed on the computer.
Pressing the reset button. Also attempted pressing and holding.
Using a different USB port on the computer.
Restarting both Bittle and the computer.
Used the same USB adapter and USB cable with the same computer on a second Bittle, which worked perfectly (Standard Bittle with a V1_2 Nyboard).
Using the same Bluetooth adapter with the second Bittle, which also worked perfectly.
I'm worried I've done something very wrong that has bricked Bittle. Any help is greatly appreciated. Lastly, please let me know if any additional information is required. I've attempted to get everything in here that I can think of, but if I've missed something I'm more than happy ot provide it.
Regards,
Beginner
Hi,
When you upgraded to 2.0, have you selected "upgrade the firmware", or "update the mode only"? It needs a complete upgrade of the firmware. You can also use Factory Reset to automate the process.
If you still get the "programmer is not responding error"/"not in sync" error, the bootloader may be crashed. You can try to reset it, or we can send you a resetter.
