I'm sorry if this is redundant but I downloaded the drivers yet my computer still can't find the port for the FTDI uploader. Is there something I'm missing?
There’s a warning sign on the USB device manager. Could you right click it to see if the system can find a fix by searching and installing the driver automatically?
I had the same problem even after I installed the CH341SER driver. At last I installed FTDI official drivers from here: https://ftdichip.com/drivers/. I chose the Windows Driver Installer (VCP & D2XX) option. After I installed this, the problem in the Device Manager disappeared and my Arduino IDE was able to recognize the board in a COM port.
Hi, sorry for the late response-- I'm running Windows 10 and I looked for it under the Arduino IDE (tools --> port, which is grayed out) and device manager which shows all my COM ports but when I plug in Nybble a little yellow triangle with a black exclamation point appears over FT232R USB UART. I'm thinking I need to update that driver? Below are pictures of what you asked for.
What's your computer system and where are you looking for the uploader? Do you have a picture showing your connection and the screenshot of the menu you are looking at?

You'd better refer to this user manual:

4.2.5. Connect FTDI uploader
here is the driver download website for windows:
