I'm writing on behalf of my son. We have a Bittle X, and the gyroscope is no longer working unless the vision sensor is installed. Any ideas on what we can check? I'm a noob, so please ELI12 :)

Do you use Arduino IDE or the desktop to program the robot?
Could you confirm the version date of the firmware running on the robot?
You can check the "About" of the desktop app, or enter '?' in the serial monitor of the Arduino IDE.
