@Rongzhong Li I haven't used the wix platform, but the service should contain a CAPTCHA feature that you should enable for post submission. As far as I know, thats really the only way to stop bots posting.

I just used a pair of scissors, a sharp pair would do it.

Oh and be very very careful with the foot pads, they can snap if over stretched (I snapped one :(...) Watch the videos!

@Zee J I thought the same thing when I started building my Nybble! But no, all the parts are there and you have plenty of screws! :)

@Lilie Boizumault Hi Lilie, Congratulations on creating your first course! I'm assuming you're using the ultrasonic sensor for obstacle detection? Is your initial course based around only instantiating the ultrasonic sensor to detect obstacles, or will you be extending the code to allow Nybble to make directional decisions as well? Looking forward to seeing more of your upcoming your course material!

I've compared a Coral Dev Board to a Pi 4 today, and although the physical dimensions are the same, the Coral won't fit with the y1Pi bracket. The Ethernet connector is too long and would catch the NyBoard. Sad times.

@Rongzhong Li Thank you for the info. From the documentation it looks as though the Coral Dev Bpard has the same phyisical dimensions as a 3B+ and it seems the pinout is similar to the RPi so can be mounted directly to the NyBoard using the y1Pi bracket. I've opted to try out the Coral Accelerator for the moment though so will see how it all goes.

I'd like to see an improved frame to support the addition of a pinhole camera and IR sensors for eyes, allowing for night vision. Perhaps a second mount along with the ultrasonic frame would be possible? USB-C battery compartment for cable charging or even to allow for a Qi wireless charging receiver to be plugged in would also be nice. I second the addition of multiple touch, Lidar, temperature, mic and speaker sensors! Dedicated WiFi and Bluetooth will be good, but what happens when you use Pi config, will the Pi connectivity take over? I'll keep my thinking hat on and suggest more improvements if I think of any! Finally, any update on the new board? Thanks for all your hard work!

@Howard Patterson thank you. For now I'm just controlling Nybble aka Roco (named after my late cat Coco... it was going to be Rococo, but I prefer Roco lol.) Wirelessly using terminal SSH on my phone and OpenCatWeb, which works really elegantly. (props to @leukipp for developing a lovely web interface. Though I had a touch of trouble getting the web interface to display, it suddenly started working yesterday!) I'm currently working my way through understanding Nybble.imo, I've not coded in C++ since my - high school for US, college for UK - years. So that might take some time. I'm also toying with the idea of extending ardSerial or possibly OpenCatWeb as both are coded in Python. Ideally my end goal would be to get Nybble walking and learning through the Pi0 autonomously with self-guided wireless charging and maybe the very distant possibility of using machine learning via a cloud service? But in the meantime I'll try and work with some additional sensors as now I'm off furlough and working, I won't get much time to work on him... :(

@Tom Swann I must admit, getting the connections to the Nyboard with the Pi configuration was quite difficult, thats because the Nyboard is positioned to the top end of Nybbles frame in order to make room for the Pi USB and Ethernet ports, as a result servo cables 11 and 10 have to be streched to their limit, as shown below. Servo cable 11 is fully streched to pin 9 Rongzhong has kindly pointed out that it is possible to reassign the pins as they are declared as constants in the code. So I will be switching pins 9 and 11 over as well as, 14 and 12 which will provide a little slack on both cables. Also, since the Nyboard is mounted above the frame in the Pi configuration and not underneath as with Nyboard only config. The servo cable connectors will not sit flush, you'll need to tease them in gently at an angle as below. But just thinking about it, since the Pi0 doesn't require the space allowance of a full size Pi, perhaps the Nyboard only config will support mounting a Pi0?? Food for after-thought.

Agreed, not only does it have a single core, but it only has 512Mb of RAM, so trying to get it to do more than one computational task is almost impossible. Personally, I'm planning on forking your repo and then cloning back to the Pi0 as and when needed once I've added my customisations.

I'm using a Pi0, which is fine once the programming is in place. It only runs slow if you're trying to code on it at the same time, it simply isn't powerful enough. This is how I have mine mounted. https://www.petoi.com/forum/main/comment/5f346dfa21750f00185d3484

I've managed to get a hold of a multimeter, and tested the 9v Keenstone Li Ion batteries, the output is 8.6v which is a touch above the 8.4v the servos can manage. I've yet to test what the servos actually get, but I'd imagine it will be 8.6v which I can live with as long as I don't run Nybble for too long...

I've mounted a Pi0 to my Nybble (excuse my soldering, it's not my best work!) using one stand off and one included board mount piece. You don't have to add the Pi during build, but you need to use the y1Pi pieces. The screw holes are very easily accessible post-build when Nybble is in the calibration position.

@Taka I recently asked a similar question. It turns out, the Pi and chip will get a steady 5v as the Nyboard has on-board power management. I've been running mine on a 9v Lithium Ion and so far haven't had any issues, but my servos may be running a touch faster.

Does that mean I can either make changes to Nybble.imo and upload to the EEPROM, or extend ardSerial.py which controls Nybble directly? At the moment, I've just been following the guides and not inspected either code files at all. Edit: I've just had a quick look at ardSerial, and it looks like the code just sends command tokens to the Nyboard?

Hi all, Do I still need to do this if I want to program Nybble through my RPi0? Nybble is currently controlled via my RPi as per the original set up instructions which says the RPi takes over the serial communication, yet this post suggests creating a connection between the NyBoard DTR pin and GPIO17.. Thanks!
