Hi - I'm also having a hard time with the remote for Bittle. I have the IRRemote (not IRRemoteControl or other) library installed. Bittle wasn't responding at all to the IR. When I run the sketch: testInfraredRemote.ino the buttons are being received, but each one outputs: other button NOTE: The sketch as downloaded did not work. The line: if (irrecv.decode(&results)) // have we received an IR signal? produced a message that decode(&results) was deprecated & that decode() with no parameters should be used. I changed the code as directed, but the run result simply outputs other button for every button pressed. Before trying this I swapped out the battery. No luck. Also - I think I followed the instructions on fixing the IRremote.h file on my Mac as indicated on the graphic here: https://bittle.petoi.com/4-configuration Here's a gist of my update: https://gist.github.com/gallaugher/0f5d7baaf4246b6d7f73f99ce3b88209 Note the file I modified doesn't seem to have any #define SEND_X lines, even though four are shown in the image in the bittle.petoi.com/4-configuration URL above. I figured out a procedure that worked for me & posted a YouTube video, just in case this is helpful for others: https://youtu.be/DR-jUdI_MaQ • Install the spring from the leg side that does NOT have teeth in the servo holes facing up. • Make sure spring is aligned around servo arm, first. • Put a finger over the spring end attached to the servo so the spring doesn't pop out. • Use something flat, metal, and sturdy to push other side of spring - I used the end of maker tweezers. • Push the other spring end in as far as it'll go. Try to slide the edge of the spring side you are pushing in on a bit of an angle so some of the spring bulges out toward you, like a slinky. • Once you can feel the other end of the spring is in, push the bulging slinky bump of the spring in so the entire spring is compressed and straight. @Rongzhong Li I'm new to 3D printing. Thank you for the STL. What type of material or process can I use? My wife & I have spent several hours trying to get the springs into the Bittle, but neither of us has had any luck at all.

Well, I tried the 3.7 lipo and it didn't work. Also made the mistake of thinking 14500 Li-SOCL2 were rechargeable - they ARE NOT. Caught them heating up in the charger before anything bad happened, but wanted to make sure others knew about this. Would love to hear best practice for getting the Deans / T connector on an RC lipo with specs like the ones above configured to fit into the terminal headers. Am thinking I'd take a female Dean to JST, trip off the JST end, then solder this to a two-pin header pin, shrinking up the wires and solder so there's no chance of a touch. This way I don't touch the battery wires & keep their integrity, just using a separate, modified cable for the adapter wire. Does that sound like it'd work?

@Rongzhong Li Thanks for the recommendation. I purchased Zanflare charger you recommended above. I put four batteries in at once and the batteries got very hot. Then realized the batteries that I bought (see below) were Li-SLCO2 and those are apparently NOT rechargeable and not Li-ions. Good thing I didn't burn the house down :) Leaving this post here in case there are any other newbies that might make the bonehead mistake I just made. Hope the Shenzhen MakerFaire goes well for you!

@Mr Robot how did yo attach your battery wires to the + and - terminal? I have a similar Floureon, 35c, 1500mAh, but the ends of the red and black are flat (pic below). Advice appreciated. Thx much!

@Rongzhong Li thx, as always, for your kind advice. The holes are flat shapes at a right angle, that I hadnt expected. Thought they’d be pinholes. Any thoughts on how to attach pins to these so I can use this lipo in Nyboard’s + and - terminals? Also: do i just slide the jumper so it’s no longer connected to Batt and is instead connected to V+? Hi - the 14500 unprotecteds are tough to come by in the US. I tried using a flat Adafruit 3.7 Lipo, but the servos behaved oddly & I wasn't able to properly calibrate. I've ordered a FLOUREON 2S Battery 7.4v 35C 1500mah li-ion battery: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06Y2M2J7D/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_U_tLlXDb5AKAKCP It looked like it had specs similar to others folks were using. I've got Nyboard 0.2 with the jumper. I've currently configured it like the image below. Do I slide this over disconnecting batt & connecting V+ to accomodate the 7.4v rechargeable? I was otherwise going to cut the single red and black (not the group that has the white, as well), and put these in the + and - terminals on the Nyboard. Do I have this right? Thanks!

Is it possible to use a 3.7v lipo w/o having to do the bypass mentioned above? I have several 3.7v adafruit batteries with various mAh ratings, such as this one (plus many others of higher and lower mAh ratings): https://www.adafruit.com/product/2011 My initial thought was to cut & strip the ends of a female JST and connect them to the + and - terminals on the board, then connect the male JST-out on the battery above to this wired-in female JST. This should allow to easily remove the connection & recharge the lipo w/the appropriate charger. I could probably just velcro the battery to the current AA holder to retain the ability to slide around the battery weight to adjust the center of Nybble, as needed. Would this work or I'm missing something? And while I'm wiring down there, is there something else I should consider adding, like an on-off switch like this: https://www.adafruit.com/product/3064 (I'd trim the wires to make in shorter, connecting one end directly to the terminals & leaving the female end for the LiPo). Apologies, I'm not a hw engineer, so I'm not completely comfortable w/power concepts.

Great - I'm totally new to the hardware side of things, so I'm assuming this means just shift this plastic piece over so it looks like this. These connections are pushed down due to Pi manufacturing issue. They will be covered with electrical tape before adding the Pi. Hoping this doesn't blow anything up :)

Thanks - I bent the pins forward & the Pi seems to fit. I also suggested an edit to the Google Doc. Do I need to worry if components are touching? If so, what do you recommend I put between the Nyboard and the Pi? Thanks for raising this issue. I was really worried I'd done something wrong.
