I’m still waiting for my Bittle (I was an early backer, but waiting for the sensor pack), but I’m curious if anyone has managed to train their Bittle to follow a specific person and if you could provide some details on how it’s done. My daughter would absolutely LOVE it if I could do this - even better if it could take orders from her.. she’s really bossy 🤣 I’m an experienced programmer, but this is my first time venturing into robotics / arduino.

Hi Jordan, I'm wondering whether you made any progress with this project?
I have a similar idea, where I'd like to make petoi follow a person or my cat ^.^
To @Rongzhong Li's comment: While correct, you might be able to start with teaching an algorithm to recognize a specific shirt or the hairs of that person. - The actual mapping and navigation might even be the harder part.
I'm currently trying to figure out which hardware to buy/ wait for and whether to compute on the bittle or externally. I would assume it's currently easier to send a video stream via WiFi and signals back to control, but I'd be interested if there are already discussions going on around this?
got it, thanks! please let me know if you come across any good recommendations here
People recognition is harder than face detection. You may need to add some more advanced chips to run a neural network.
I'll visit some chip companies for that purpose. 🤫
