Set up Development Environment on Chromebook

Due to the needs of many users, we are extending the software support to Chromebooks. As you may know, Chromebooks use a different system configuration from Windows or Mac, and its Linux environment is incomplete.

This brings many difficulties in setting up the Arduino IDE and keeping the libraries current.

If you have a Chromebook, you may test this chapter to set up the Arduino IDE. We have limited Chromebook models, and the network condition is fixed. So, we'd like to know if the current tutorial can work on various models and conditions.

Traffic Signals for Robot Spaces

Like humans, robots need structured environments for smooth collective operations. Researchers study how to coordinate robots, but it's a complex challenge, especially with different kinds of robots in the same space. A particular problem is how two robots navigate an intersection when crossing paths.

A robot in a shared path space can simply obey standard traffic signals using machine vision, with no special background coordination required. This mini-project at Bittle-scale is traffic signals for a T-intersection. As Bittle adds multi-sensing and machine vision, this method is ready to test. It is also good curriculum for basic control logic and discrete electronics, and then as a machine vision demo.

Similar to cars, you may need to add front ligths to Bittle for back lighting conditions.

For the NyBoard, the mind+ firmware disables several modules to focus on block coding. For example, the self-balancing algorithm is disabled, so the robot won't move when you hold it in hand. The infrared remote is also disabled to save programming space. You need to reupload the standard firmware to resume the standard mode.

Petoi Coding Blocks is ready

A new way to program the Petoi robot. It's something like Scratch, quite simple and easy to use.

Hi, I have been programming bittle using mind+ blocks..

Is it possible to program bittle using mind+ without the cable to PC? e.g. by connecting it via bluetooth or wifi?
